Yoga Quad - Part VI
Yoga Therapy
"Excellence in action is yoga" declares the heavenly song (Geetha), a treatise on the faith of yoga and quintessence of the Upanishads. Yoga as the science of holistic living is a lifestyle. Yoga does not mean not exercise, even if these exercises were planned to improve the skills of our body. Yoga includes techniques that transform our intelligence mind and emotions and provides an overall philosophy for Integral Life.
To live a full life, we must develop skills in life. Yoga Aurobindo defined as the art of finding my conscious. The first thing we should do and fundamental if we are pushing the limits of our consciousness, is to acquire control of the mind. It is not easy.
The incidence of most physical illnesses that have struck mankind for centuries have been reduced by advances in medical science glorious. The eradication of most diseases Infectious and fight against many metabolic disorders have been performed by more effective drugs and surgical techniques. Soon, even routine minterventions genetics may be possible. But new cases and more and more common in poor health haunt us today. They are psychosomatic diseases and chronic stress. Allopathy is more or less efficient processing of these complaints.
The cause of these happen to be behaviors and lifestyles and not anomalies physiological. Allopathy by focusing on physical and mechanistic approach to healing, can hardly alleviate such conditions. The breakneck pace Modern life presents many people with high mental tension & stress relief continues. And if we are largely sedentary in our habits and abuse substances harmful to health and food, as we like to do, our well-being and fitness Furthur will be compromised. Finally, stress can manifest itself form of physical illness or mental breakdown. Allopathy is symptomatic, and responded with treatments suppress symptoms instead of tackling the causes root of the problem. The absence of the disease has been regarded as health, rather
than as a dynamic process of growth in which we feel really good about the physical, mental level and spiritual levels.
The evolution of medicine and the three eras of medicine
Allopathic or "Physical" is for the first time. It creates a Cartesian dichotomy between mind and body. Treating a disease is like fixing a part of the machine.
The second phase of medicine refers to "body-mind medicine. "It became popular in the 1960s with the advent of meditation, imagery, hypnosis and biofeedback. Mind and body are linked together by molecules of messenger molecules and these are invoked to complete the healing process.
The third era medicine refers to "transpersonal medicine." It became popular in the 1990s with the advent of group support and spirituality to heal.
Yoga therapy complete the second and third periods of the medicine.
Yoga Therapy complete medical technology with a holistic system of health care that addresses the problems Trinity - physical, mental and spiritual. The author of Yoga Sutras, Patanjali, he defines as the science of the mind. Mind is the cause of bondage and in order to redeem us from the slavery of the mind, we have in mind annilhilate. Extirpation Yoga is thought waves. And thanks to teach us to control our minds, our desires, and our reactions to stress, yoga can help us fundamentally. It is based on the tripod of life - Body, Mind & Self & the three levels of being-how, thinking and pure Being.
Mastery of the mind has 2 aspects;
1) Concentration - The ability to focus our attention on a given subject or object
2) Meditation - The ability to calm our mind at will.
Although the first part was mastered by most people, the second is very difficult. It is difficult indeed to fall into a state of inner peace, and even less at will. In As an intellectual, clever ways to calm the mind, Yoga is unsurpassed. A mind is still pure Spirit.
All aspects of work Quadruple Yoga to this in some way and if we practice the science teacher, we come closer to our goal. Yoga generates the inner mental peace perpetually in all our actions, and so we get physical and mental health. This calmness in action is the secret to achieving competence, according to the philosophy of yoga. This is This is called the power of silence Superconscient!
Stillness itself is the inertia
Action itself is the discord
When calm and smooth action
is then the highest cosmic union (yoga)
Lo! closes a lamp burns sheltered from the wind
Such is the likeness of the mind Yogi's
Freed from sense storms and bright light in the sky
When broods peace of mind, soothed with holy wont
When self consider and in itself
Has comfort! (The Song Celestial)
Therapy Health and Yoga
The World Health Organization defines health as a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of
disease and infirmity. WHO suggests also a fourth dimension - spiritual wellness. It follows from this definition that health should
be conceived as a continuous function, indicating the state of well-being and not a lack of health.
The approach of Yoga Therapy is based on the holistic concept of human beings, the five "Sheaths" of existence which the physical sheath (annamaya Kosha) is only the first. The second is the Vital Sheath (Pranamaya Kosha) which is composed of vital energy called Prana which flows through invisible channels called nadis. The third is the mental sheath (kosha Manomaya) The fourth is the intellectual sheath (kosha Vijnanamaya) and final sheath is the Bliss Sheath (Ananda Maya Kosha). The Bliss Sheath is composed of positive energy associated with the divine self. It is from this sheath that the inner peace
characteristic of true happiness comes from.
More on transcendental philosophy and yoga can be had from http://www.astrologiavedica.com/html/yogamain.htm
The disease is defined as any imbalance in one of the three lower sheaths of existence. Ego-consciousness, which is centered around the self, prevails in the physical, vital sheaths and spirit. Harmony in these ducts can be easily disturbed as the ego is in arms against the world most of the time. The fourth and fifth sheaths are penetrated by a larger, cosmic consciousness and can not be disturbed because they are closer to the car. When we are truly healthy, positive energy in the upper sheath percolates freely through the lower and brings harmony and balance total of all our faculties. But the imbalances in the ducts to the lower block the free movement of Bliss, despite the harmony of the ducts be constant.
Large Treaty on Yoga, Yoga Vasishta, says there are two types of physical illness, and each requires a different approach. The first are diseases with high physical component, such as contagious diseases and unintentional injuries. These are most effectively treated by conventional medicine, if yoga can play a role important support. Yoga is preventive and also helps prevent the onset of diseases such by improving the overall health and make us less prone to accidents.
The other types of illness results from disturbances in the sheath mind and includes all psychosomatic ailments and degenerative diseases. In these disorders, psychological factors play a greater role, and the conventional treatment alone can not do the healing. According to Yoga psychology, such evils are thought to be caused by mental illness called Adhis. (Adhi creates vyddhi, Sickness). These feelings arise when too strong like or dislike not (Raga & Dvesha) grows and is established as to distort the personality and impede the flow of positive energy for the lower sheaths. This causes imbalances that result in physical discomfort and also makes us feel uneasy and dissatisfied.
The positive energy of the sheath of happiness responsible for our natural state is peace. Although the flow of this energy is interrupted by Adhis (blockages), our sense of well-being is diminished, and in our attempt to find him, we can be Furthur compound the problem by behaving inappropriately.
We can eat good food type fall into negative states of mind, readers we too hard, we work overload, living in an unhealthy environment and add more tension and stress. These methods however, give you only temporary relief and may actually undermine our health.
YT provides that all important element is missing conventional therapy while treating psychosomatic illnesses, as it acts directly on mental imbalances that underlie them. While meditation Culture and emotion makes us aware of the fact that thoughts and emotions are tyrants, happiness, the analysis learns to look within ourselves to find blissful peace and contentment. This effectively complements allopathic techniques that improve the physical, but are unable to eliminate the root causes of the problem.
The root cause of all the pleasures of the disease - or sensory Bhoga
Bhoga (pleasures of the senses) is Roga (disease). It can not be cured by Yoga (Divine Alchemy).
All food that is tasty is detrimental to the organization, said Prakriti Therapy food that comes from nature, fruits and vegetables,
alkaline in nature. maximum health is an alkaline body. We can not be healthy, if we keep a 80% to 20% ratio. (Alkalinity 80% and 20% acidity). That means we have to eat more natural foods and foods less processed (which are more or less acidic). Indeed foods, processed, even if they taste good, are thieves because they rob us of our natural resources, vibrant health.
Analysis happiness for Lifestyle Change
Happiness is an analytical technique to analyze the cause of happiness, This is Bliss, the inner peace that beatific
characterizes the fifth level of Being. This essence embodies the realization that happiness comes from within and not
depends on material goods or physical enjoyment.
When we reach the desired, we happy temporarily because of the satisfaction and happiness in question is often associated with
jubilation and excitement. But these are feelings of euphoria often followed by negative feelings such as fatigue and disillusionment.
The beatific peace, which is the goal of yoga, has no great effort and engenders point of fatigue. The texts of yoga authoritatie
assumption that the final stage of Bliss is a state of eternal silence, where we are not troubled by tormenting thoughts and
concerns and where we are liberated from all pain.
Although yoga practices lay the foundation for us to achieve this objective, we must make determined efforts to maintain a state of
perfect happiness in analyzing our feelings of pleasure. The basic assumption of Yoga is that actions bring pleasure when they talk briefly inner silence that defines true happiness. When our desire is fulfilled or when a goal is won, the epitome
success of our thoughts and disappear momentarily dips in mind the sheath Bliss. In fact, what we do is to open channels for more temporary sheath, which evoke positive feelings. It is just a temporary feeling and can not be perpetuated.
Can we generate the time of the Interior and free us from dependence on foreign aid? Yes, we can if we try enough. Practice makes perfect, and first we are not able to maintain internal peace for a long time, but gradually we become less vulnerable to negative influences. The likes and dislikes (Raga & Dvesha) which can lead to mental illness (Adhis) will be less importance and our growing awareness of cosmic consciousness that gives meaning and coherence to all aspects of our lives.
The Basis of Yoga Therapy
Yoga therapy is fundamentally different from the practice allopathic approach to health care. Instead of trying to narrow down the cause
disease to a single factor and corrected using a specific treatment, yoga aims to treat disease by improving health on five levels of being - physical, vital, mental, intellectual and spiritual - simultaneously and restore inner harmony.
The disease occurs when total balance of perfect health is disturbed. And although the influence of origin can not assign a level to disrupt the first, namely the physical, disturbance spreads rapidly to the other four levels. All the five sheaths of existence interact, so something that primarily affects the mind can soon spread to the body and the subtle sheaths. A bad day at work can make us irritable and it also increases the stress response, makes our muscles tense and often depletes our energy level leading to chronic fatigue.
Although culture generates emotions equanimity Relaxation and meditation can calm our minds. Affirmative action produces harmony, as in spreading negative influences of disturbances. Different types of yoga to increase each other and are more effective when they are together. All wisdom is given in the word "Relax".
Physical Relaxation can be done when we do asanas prescribed and stretch our muscles, muscle tension is released.
mental relaxation taking place when we relax our mind during meditation and release repressed emotions.
Is the essence even Yoga Therapy, both prophylactic and therapeutic. The daily practice of a full session of yoga can restore our natural balance and harmony, bringing positive good health for three levels of being - physical, mental and spiritual.
The therapeutic potential of yoga
Yoga Science holistic and integral life, has become popular because it promotes health and positive is also useful in the prevention and treatment of diseases. Its therapeutic potential has been widely studied for stress-related disorders pyshco-somatic. But
Recent interest for "psycho-neuro-immunology (the effect of mind on the immune system), there is also a possibility that yoga therapy may modify course of infectious diseases.
A condition of stress can certainly be controlled through yoga therapy as bronchial asthma. Beneficial effects of specific yoga practices such as pranayama, or kriyas can relieve asthma. Patients with type II diabetes were daibetes also shown to improve significantly after the practice of yoga. Systematic studies on the effects of yoga therapy for hypertension showed that essential YT compares favorably with biofeedback. A study conducted in the United Kingdom in patients with rheumatoid arthritis demonstrated that YT reduced symptoms and the need for medicine.
Scientific studies also show that if pathological Angst (anxiety) Patients practice yoga techniques like Pranayamas (which
means control of the vital force, prana), they show a significant improvement.
Yoga therapy has also been used in the rehabilitation of the mentally disabled. Ten months of yoga practice has greatly improved the IQ hand-eye coordination and social adjustment of 45 children with varying degrees of mental retardation.
Psycho-neuro-immunology has landmark to the idea that YT can be used for the management of infectious diseases such

Yoga Food and cancer prevention
Reasearch shows that modern regimes such as smoked fish / meat or other foods known to contain products chemical carcinogens must be
avoid at all costs. Because of the power of Western fast food type of colon cancer, among men, the promotion of high meat (beef) and fat
consumption is increasing in the West. There is no doubt that a high content fiber, low fat diet reduces the risk of colon cancer.
Many compounds which are potent carcinogens are contained in the cigarette and smoked meat or fish or barbecue
products. They include benzene (in the tar component of cigarette smoke), amines heterocyclic and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (in smoke / grilled meat or fish). This explains why lung cancer is increasing in the population Men of the West during the last century. Colon cancer has reached epidemic proportions in the West (because of increased consumption Barbecued beef and beef fat) and stomach cancer occurs at an alarming rate in Japan because of the habit of eating fish in Japan.
The allegations need Furthur research
Although spices such as (black or green) or spices like fresh ginger, garlic and turmeric have been reported to reduce the risk of colon cancer
cancer, the onion is claimed to reduce the risk of stomach cancer. soy products reduces the risk of prostate cancer. Skin
cancer is reduced, it is claimed, by topical application of certain components of oil ginger and ginger extract. It is true that more
Research is needed on natural compounds. A breakthrough was the discovery of taxol, a plant product is enormous
advantage in certain cancers. There are many waiting for their discovery, for example, particularly from plants indigenous to India, with good
tools for scientific research and testing.
Hygeia Commandment is "Thou shalt eat unprocessed, natural food of life" deserves be considered here. Naturopathy

Selling the Lower East Side
$25.54
The Lower East Side of Manhattan is rich in stories — of poor immigrants who flocked there in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries; of beatniks, hippies, and artists who peopled it mid-century; and of the real estate developers and politicians who have always shaped what is now termed the East Village . Today, the musical Rent plays on Broadway to a mostly white and suburban audience, MTV exploits the neighborhood’s newly trendy squalor in a film promotion, and on the Internet a cyber soap opera and travel-related Web pages lure members of the middle class to enjoy a commodified and sanitized version of the neighborhood. In this sweeping account, Christopher Mele analyzes the political and cultural forces that have influenced the development of this distinctive community. He describes late nineteenth-century notions of the Lower East Side as a place of entrenched poverty, ethnic plurality, political activism, and low culture that elicited feelings of revulsion and fear among the city’s elite and middle classes. The resulting — and ongoing — struggle between government and residents over affordable and decent housing has in turn affected real estate practices and urban development policies. Selling the Lower East Side recounts the resistance tactics used by community residents, as well as the impulse on the part of some to perpetuate the image of the neighborhood as dangerous, romantic, and bohemian, clinging to the marginality that has been central to the identity of the East Village and subverting attempts to portray it as new and improved .Ironically, this very image of urban grittiness has been appropriated by a cultural marketplace hungry for new fodder.Mele explores the ways that developers, media executives, and others have coopted the area’s characteristics — analyzing the East Village as a style provider where what is being marketed is difference . The result is a visionary look at how political and economic actions transform neighborhoods and at what happens when a neighborhood is what is being consumed .
