What is the best way to meditate?
I really want to learn how to meditate but the few times I’ve tried it were hard. I find that I get tired and fall asleep or distracted. What are some suggestions? How do you know you’ve meditated successfully?

"Meditation is simply hypnosis without suggestion .." -Is the most hypno-therapist you say.
And all this in some (rare) cases may be true, it is unfortunate that this view is promulgated, that describes a very limited meditation, and does not consider the phenomenal number of forms of meditation that are actually there. It does not consider the true nature of most forms of meditation.
To illustrate this, I would say that we consider the incredible number of guided meditations that are offered, sold, and promoted by various non-profit and nonprofit organizations. Of course, to understand the impact it has to examine the composition of most of these meditations tours, which include some key elements:
1. Usually intended to create an alternate state of consciousness.
2. Generally designed with a specific life / goal in mind meditative.
3. These objectives are sometimes a form of metaphor, see or otherwise.
4. Can be administered by oneself or by another, or in a group setting, with great success.
When it is examined it is clear that there is almost always a goal that is pursued in guided meditations. We then also recognize that without goals can be achieved without some form of suggestion to induce the practitioner in the right direction. Of course, there are other forms of meditation in which suggestion, in itself, plays a lesser role. Do not forget, however, that meditation without a lens is usually pretty useless, and such the most forms of meditation practiced with a goal in mind. And no wonder too, then the deduction quite clear that there must be some suggestion, even these.
A further example of this would be a simple application of meditation in order to relax. (A fairly common practice). In this case, it remains a goal. "Relax. And any suggestion is not usually passed during meditation, they are generally pre suggestions meditative which are then acted during meditation, and generally with the desired results.
If reduction in meditation definition a pointless exercise, would be less than fair. Of course, this brings to mind another point of consideration.
Is there really a difference between hypnosis and meditation? … After all, they all seem to have the same primary properties. And if so, what is the distinction, if one exists? …
While the answers to these questions are a bit more complicated, consider that this may not be recognized at this stage, meditation is clearly a less formal hypnosis, and in fact be considered hypnosis in most analogies. Especially when properties of meditation is considered average.
In fact, when this analogy is considered later, he comes to mind that meditation seeks to in principle the same as hypnosis. It also focuses on the creation of mental states in which it is possible to manipulate the mind toward the goals that were set. One thing to remember though is that is usually practiced in a much less formal and more in a solo situation, essentially like self-hypnosis. Sure There are environments in which group practiced meditation, and generally as a guide. These, however, still maintaining the properties similar and as such can be as effective as most forms of hypnosis practiced.
With this in mind, it seems that there is virtually no distinction in the definition, with the exception of their use as therapeutic tools.
1. It is possible therapeutic use of hypnosis to manipulate and control the responses of patients. This allows to speak directly and instantaneously adaptable mental therapy in a controlled environment. This offer therapists an opportunity to treat more serious mental disorders for which meditation is not adequate. This is primarily achieved by the creation of control externalized through hypnosis, which is conducive to security mental healing, quite seriously ill patients. This also provides a simple alternative to meditation for those who do not have the domestic capacity and strength, self hypnotize / meditate.
2. While meditation can also be used as a therapeutic tool, it needs more practitioners capacity internalized. Considering the nature of meditation, and similarities between meditation and hypnosis, meditation can be used as effectively as the most self-hypnosis techniques, and even some therapeutic uses such as regression and other forms of hypnotherapy, can be found in advanced meditators. It is possible for a doctor to get results similar to meditation as with hypnotherapy on things like, say, "to help you stop smoking." But when it comes to more serious mental disorders / conditions is without hypnotheraphy probably best to cope with problems that may emerge due to the therapist's ability to monitor outsourced and improvise a session if necessary.
Accepting that, I would say that meditators should not be afraid to explore their own minds and abilities using meditation as a platform, and expanded to include what would usually be considered technical selfhypnosis. Noting that, if done carefully, it can get much more of your meditation, in much less time. Especially when the techniques of combining the two genres where the emphasis is placed on the ability of inner self, rather that the requirement of traditional hypnosis to control outsourced. Applying this, we also offered a unique opportunity to define your own hypnotic / meditative goals, which is normally not possible with hypnotherapists, as they usually want to decide what is best for you.
Of course, there is always room for outsourced hypnosis / meditation, and if the therapist can be trusted, it can also come with incredible benefits and results probably a little faster than planned attempts to do yourself.

soul meditation

do you think that meditation needs preparation or it just Performance,or non of these?
to me meditation is our soul,s food that can be available right way by switching off the mind from outward and shedding towards inner invisible body where our own self resides in reality. every body ,knowingly or un knowingly going through this process every day or night when in deep sleep BUT the only difference is in meditation one has awareness and receiving the fruit full results and bliss. and in deep sleep one is recharging him self .that is the difference.that is why you do not need to learn how to recharge your self BUT you must need how to achieve the bliss and GODHEAD. what do you think ,one should need preparation/performance or nothing in related to meditation. thanks.
Yes, preparation is necessary. One must be in a place where there will not be any distractions. It must be a silent place. Some spiritual reading from the scriptures or other works may be beneficial. It is suggested that one start with a formal prayer such as the Lord’s Prayer (Our Father) or something else. Many make it a personal conversation with God.

how to learn meditation

any one have learn trascendental meditation technique?
Hello and thanks for reading my question!
I am very interested in learning the TM technique and I have read all about it on the web…my only concern is the cost of the course, it is 2000 USD; first I do not have this amount of money to pay for it second does the benefits really compensate the investment?
Does anyone know how can I learn from a CD or a book or other source less expensive? The teachers are very protective of the information and they say the only way of learning is a one to one class, I am very motivated to learn and also the TMCD advance course but I am from south America came to the US just to study, I do not work and financial recourses are limited at the moment : )
Please can any one help???
There is nothing to learn in TM. The only difference between TM and regular meditation is that the “guru” whispers a word in your ear which you are supposed to repeat when you do TM…that is the one to one. You will get the same benefit if you do regular meditiation and that is free.
I took TM back in 1979. I practiced it for a while and found no extra benefits. Luckily it was just starting around that time and it was cheap. I feel that it is a gimmick to capture the Westerners into thinking that they are into a exotic culture.
Then again, it is your money.

how to meditate meditation

Is meditation good or bad? I have seen so many studies on it being positive, and many on it being negative?
I’ve found multiple negative consequences due to Transcendental Meditation and am afraid to learn to meditate now. For my question, I’m not just looking for short-term conclusions, but also long-term practice results. Lastly, if meditation is beneficial, please include a link or explanation in order to learn how to meditate, and which meditations are bad.
For those that asked, here’s a list of abstracts (summaries) to studies that have found negative effects with meditation. However, they seem to all revolve around Transcendental Meditation and the articles that use other meditators don’t specify which types of meditation and have other scientific errors…like only studying 6 people, which gives a small pool of statistically unreliable results
http://www.behind-the-tm-facade.org/transcendental_meditation-harmful-abstracts.htm
Hi Keenan, Good question. There are mountains of good solid scientific research on TM. There are several hundred studies and they have been published in more than 200 major scientific journals. http://www.mum.edu/tm_research/journals.html This means they were performed rigorously with good controls and the results are real. As you have mentioned the studies at the behind-the-TM-facade web site use only a small sampling and have not been published in major science journals and are therefore not reliable. Here is a good link for research on TM: http://www.mum.edu/tm_research/. There is also published research that compares TM with other meditation techniques and shows that TM came out as the best. http://www.truthabouttm.org/truth/Research/ComparisonofTechniques/index.cfm I hope this info is helpful for you.
